Dental Implants with BMP-2 Coating

A series of bone tissue medications with dental implants installed in them was studied. It showed that all dental implants were located on a vertical axis to the bone. The bone tissue surrounding the implants was in all cases represented by lamellar (mature) compact bone tissue with few and narrow osteonic channels.
Morphometric examination of the bone-implant contact surface (BIC%) showed that all but one implant revealed high survival (BIC > 75%), while one specimen demonstrated a lower, yet acceptable, level of integration  (BIC < 75%).

Investigation of Dental Implants Osseointegration With Various Surface Types in an Animal Model

The objective of the study’s experimental phase was to evaluate the osseointegration of dental implants  placed into sheep mandibles using morphological analysis.
A total of 12 implants were used in the experiment: 4 control implants with a standard manufacturer-processed surface, and 8 experimental implants coated with the test material.
